Frid Ingulstad is a Norwegian novelist, born in Oslo on the 4th of September 1935. She wrote her first novel at the age of 29, and has since gone on to write more than 200 novels, including series such as Kongsdøtrene, Ildkorset, Ingebjørg Olavsdatter and Sønnavind. As of 2006, she had sold 420,000 books in Norway, making her the biggest selling author in the country. She loves to read and write fairy tales, and enjoys telling them to her grandchildren.
